The View | 2019
The performance "The View" presented on the occasion of the artistic event "Les portes ouvertes des ateliers d'artistes de Montreuil, 2018" deals with the question of importance of nowadays art. Can art play the same role as religion, how is contemporary art understood by the audience, what is the reason they turn to it? In a red dress, with a mirror hanging on my neck, I walk past the exhibited artefacts. I put the mirror in front of my face when looking at them. In front of every displayed object and picture I scatter salt and soil. Then I turn to the spectator, I put a pinch of salt in their hand, look into their eyes and slowly move the mirror in front of my eyes until they see their face instead of mine. Video : Yann BOHAC
